Lodi winery website report cards

Is your website quietly turning away tasting guests?

Our Brix Score checks your winery's website against 13 things that affect tasting bookings, wine club signups and how you show up in search. You get a plain-English report with a score out of 100: an owner's-eye view your webmaster can use.

Small website gaps, real lost business

Lost tasting bookings

If reservations are hard to find, slow to load on a phone, or lead to a broken page, visitors may give up before they book.

Missed wine club signups

Your club is a key source of repeat revenue. If it's buried or hard to reach on mobile, fewer people join.

Weaker search visibility

Missing page titles, descriptions and business data make it harder for Google to show your winery clearly.

How the score works

13 checks, 100 points. Each one is something a guest or search engine notices.

Vine & Barrel Cellars Fictional

66 is close to the real average score (67) across the 56 Lodi winery homepages we scored. Our score gives the most weight to what brings in tasting visits and sales, and the same rules apply to every winery. 29 of the 56 scored under 70. (One more site was in “Coming Soon” mode, so we didn't score it.)

How Lodi compares: The average Lodi winery scores 67; America's top-rated tasting rooms score 80. These scores are from the websites as they are today, before any fixes.

This is a benchmark (a reference point to measure against), not a national average. “America's top-rated tasting rooms” means the 8 of the 10 winners picked by readers in the USA TODAY 10Best Readers' Choice 2026, Best Wine Tasting Room awards that our scanner could reach (it couldn't reach the other two). We scored each homepage with the same rules we use for Lodi. The Lodi figure (67) is the average of the 56 live Lodi winery homepages we scored.

What you get

A free report

Your score out of 100, the problems we found, why each matters for tasting bookings, wine club signups and search visibility, and the recommended fix, explained in plain English. A free lost-revenue estimate, on request, uses your own visitor numbers and shows a range, with every assumption listed. It's an estimate, not a promise.

Your whole site checked, including phone speed

We check every page we can reach on your site for error pages and broken links, and test your homepage's speed on phones and computers with Google PageSpeed. In our November 2026 Lodi scan we checked 3,623 pages on 54 winery websites (57 listings; a few wineries share one site). 32 of the 54 had at least one issue beyond the homepage (53 error pages on 11 sites, 65 broken links on 23 sites, 7 mistyped links on 3 sites, 5 missing files on 2 sites, 7 pages without titles on 5 sites), and the median phone speed was 58 out of 100 in Google's simulated slow-phone test. We crawl politely: one page per second per site, link checks no faster than 4 per second, and we follow each site's robots.txt (a file where a site says which pages search tools should skip).

Example only, fictional winery

Vine & Barrel Cellars (fictional winery, California)

Our assumption: 10 would-be visitors a month give up because they can't book, find directions or tap to call.

2025 California winery averages: $86 in revenue per visitor, 5.4% of visitors join the wine club, $1,093 a year per club member (Community Benchmark, 2025).

  • Tasting room sales: 10 visitors × $86 = $860 a month ($10,320 a year)
  • Wine club: 120 lost visitors a year × 5.4% ≈ 6.5 members × $1,093 = about $7,100 a year
  • Possible total: about $17,400 a year (roughly $1,450 a month)

Club members often stay for years, so the long-term cost can be higher: the average club member is worth about $2,635 over their membership, based on surveyed US wineries, mostly on the West Coast (SVB/First Citizens DTC Report, 2025).

This is an example, not a promise. Your free report uses your own visitor numbers and shows a range, with every assumption listed.
